ABOUT ME & MY PLAN

I have spent my entire life in the service of others.

 

I was a Brownie Scout, Girl Scout, a "candy striper" at the VA hospital, a rescue squad volunteer, and then president of the deployed wives club at Fort Jackson, SC during Desert Storm...all before I turned 23 years old. 

I continued this line of service even as a stay at home mom by volunteering as "team mom" for my one son's football team, field trip coordinator for the county homeschool group, cub scout leader for 6 years, and even the cub scout day camp program director for my district.

I eventually went to school to become a paramedic and continued my service to my community by being there for them in their darkest hour. It was during this time that I moved here to Maryland to expand my education and experiences.

I did not stop with being a medic. I continued my education to become an instructor for EMS and Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid.

I ended up sustaining a career ending injury while on duty and my days of providing patient care drew to a close. I continued to help train and mentor new EMT's and continue that mentoring even to this day.

 

In 2017 I joined the Mount Rainier Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and started officially volunteering here in Mount Rainier. Not long after that I became the chair of the Mount Rainier Recreation Committee and stayed in that position until I ran for city council in May of 2023.

Since being elected to council I have focused on issues and programs that would help improve the quality of life for all of the residents of Mount Rainier.

 

It is in that spirit of service to my community that has led me to want to represent and serve ALL of Mount Rainier. As a result, I am now running to the be the "At Large" council member who represents both Ward 1 and Ward 2 and carries the honorary title of "Mayor" and I humbly ask for your support.
