New Councilmembers!

I would like to say that this campaign season was my absolutely favorite out of every campaign I have ever assisted, ran, or ran in since the late 1980's.

The respect between the council candidates was very impressive not only for those watching here in the city, but it was talked about in other cities and among other candidates as well.

On election day alone there was sharing food, helping each other when the wind knocked tents and tables over, and even sharing umbrellas when the rain started. They really did set the bar for future campaigns here in the city, and I count myself so very lucky to have been able to be a part of and witness it.

After all the counting was done, we found ourselves with two new council members!

Jenny Hoffpauir here in Ward 1 and Joseph Jakuta in Ward 2.

They were sworn in, along with Mayor Benitez on May 12th and will serve 4 years until May of 2029.

I am so excited to have them join the council and am truly looking forward to working with them both!
